Endovenous Laser Treatment or EVLT is a quick, minimally invasive laser procedure that treats varicose veins without scarring and can be performed in our office.

What is the EVLT Procedure?

Using an ultrasound, the problem vein is mapped out and then a thin laser fiber is inserted through a tiny entry point (usually near the knee). Laser energy is then delivered to seal the faulty vein. With the vein permanently closed, the body reroutes the blood to healthier veins.

The procedure is performed under local anesthetic and takes less than an hour to complete. Because the incision is so tiny, there is no scarring and you can resume your normal day activity immediately. In fact, walking right after the procedure is encouraged.
